Position Summary

The CNC Mill Setter position will be required to perform tasks involving set up, verifying and operating CNC mill and perform in-process quality checks to ensure conformance to drawing specifications and other similar duties.

Core Competencies
  • Setting new and existing jobs on 3/4-Axis, Horizontal, and 5-Axis CNC mills.
  • Ability to modify Mastercam programs and G&M codes accordingly.
  • Experience with Haas or Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to manufacture fixturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
  • Experience working with tight tolerances.
  • Able to use measuring devices.
  • Attention to detail and quality requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal communication, follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong Organization skills.
Job Duties
  • Setting up CNC milling machines.
  • Modify programs using Mastercam.
  • Edits to G&M code programming.
  • Manufacture fixturing, if required.
  • Visual and measure quality checks.
  • Promote a safe and healthy working environment by maintaining housekeeping standards and safe working practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years 3-4 & 5-axis CNC mill setting experience in precision machining shop.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Machinist certification is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
